Ross Daniel and Sarah Rose began cultivating their movement generative practice, Duration and Respond, at MANCC Forward Dialogues in May, 2017. They were nominated and selected for this inaugural lab for emerging choreographers at the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography. They set out to uncover a process that represents the two artists in a complementary way. They arrived at a process rooted in their shared interest in the limits of human capacities. The product results from their individual and shared experiences and is specific to the sites where they cultivate the material. In addition to their previous showings at MANCC, they showed a 12-minute synthesis of movement material, sound design, and visual design with WAXworks at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn, New York in December 2017 and will be generating new material during a residency in Vermont in July 2018
